99 SLIDES AND 1 CAROUSEL

An installation consisting of a projector showing a collection of 35mm slides taken of playground slides. I am fascinated by hobbies, particularly pointless collections and spotting-style hobbies (such as bird watching or train spotting) and so decided to create my own. Over time I am building up the collection by travelling around the UK and abroad to children’s parks and play areas to photograph the different slides located there. The accumulation of my slides collection will be documented on this webpage and the initial collection will be complete once I have the 99 slides necessary to fill all but one slot of slide projector carousel. The single remaining space in the carousel is filled by a slide of a fairground carousel because it somehow makes sense in a roundabout way.
